SBMS statement on Storm Daniel in Libya – September 2023

The Syrian British Medical Society (SBMS) is deeply saddened by the reports of the Daniel Storm in Libya, which has killed more than two thousand people and displaced many more. Our hearts go out to all of those affected by this tragedy: the victims and their families, the survivors, and all those involved in relief efforts and investigations taking place. Given the more than twelve years of conflict in Libya, it is evident that the country is not yet prepared to address the needs of this catastrophe.
